Sharjah Investment Forum 2025 to host world’s top investment leaders
Global event to spotlight green finance and food security priorities
SHARJAH is set to play host to an unprecedented global investment gathering this October as the 8th edition of the Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2025) takes place from October 22 to 23 at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre.
This year’s edition will be held under the theme “Transforming Our World: Investing for a Resilient and Sustainable Future”, and for the first time, will share its agenda with the 29th World Investment Conference (WIC).
The joint agenda signals a new milestone for the emirate, as Sharjah cements its role as a trusted platform for international economic dialogue. Organised by the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah), in collaboration with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) and the UAE Ministry of Investment, the two-day forum will bring together global leaders, investors, and policymakers to address transformative trends in the investment landscape.

Sharjah Investment Forum 2025
The forum will centre on advancing sustainable investment, promoting green finance, and ensuring food security as essential drivers of resilience and long-term growth. According to Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment: “The UAE once again reaffirms its commitment to leading global investment trends and building strategic partnerships that foster cross-border collaboration. The organisation of the Sharjah Investment Forum 2025, alongside the World Investment Conference, reflects the country’s dedication to creating a flexible and attractive investment environment that supports innovation, drives sustainable growth, and opens new opportunities for promising sectors and international investors.”
Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, highlighted the timeliness of the forum’s theme, noting that the global economy is undergoing a profound shift towards resilience and responsible investment. Citing the 2024 Global Impact Investing Network report, he observed that more than 3,900 organisations worldwide manage USD 1.571 trillion in impact investment assets, with a 21 per cent compound annual growth rate since 2019.
Al Musharrkh added: “Sharjah creating an integrated platform for the World Investment Conference and SIF is a vital opportunity for stakeholders to hold a global dialogue that will redefine the role of investment in building trust between capital, people, and the environment. The integration of the two events will broaden the scope of discussions and enable us to steer regional and global investment towards future-ready sectors, while also exploring new avenues for emerging markets in our region.”
Dr James Zhan, Chairman of the Executive Board of the World Investment Conference, echoed this sentiment: “We stand at the threshold of a new era in global investment, shaped by the interactions of transformative technologies, geopolitical dynamics, and sustainability imperatives. This Conference is more than a gathering; it is a launchpad for a bold, collective strategy: a ‘Decade of Investment for Good’ that reimagines capital as a force for inclusive growth, resilience, and shared prosperity across nations.”
How will it unfold?
SIF 2025, in collaboration with WIC, will examine how geopolitical tensions, climate change, and rapid technological advancement are reshaping the global investment map. The agenda will emphasise proactive policy frameworks and resilient value chains to help nations adapt to these shifts.
Sessions will spotlight sustainable investment, green finance, and ESG integration as key mechanisms to achieve sustainable development goals, particularly in areas such as smart agriculture and food security. The global green economy, valued at approximately USD 7.9 trillion in Q1 2025, will also form a major focus of discussions.
The event will explore how to build competitive investment environments through regulatory reform, flexible frameworks, and streamlined processes that attract long-term capital. In particular, it will highlight opportunities for startups and SMEs, identifying them as crucial engines for foreign direct investment and innovation. Public-private partnerships will be featured as effective models to encourage cross-border capital flows and foster collaboration among governments, businesses, and investment agencies.
When did it begin?
Since 2015, Invest in Sharjah has been hosting the Sharjah Investment Forum, establishing it as a regional hub for tracking global investment trends and shaping opportunities within the sustainable economy. Over the years, the forum has drawn influential policymakers, industry leaders, and investors from around the world, helping to position Sharjah as a key player in fostering international economic dialogue.
Meanwhile, the World Investment Conference, first launched in 1995 by WAIPA, has grown into a premier global platform that unites more than 100 countries. Its annual agenda includes high-level plenary sessions, ministerial roundtables, and investor discussions, providing participants with insights into shifting foreign direct investment (FDI) flows and emerging economic opportunities.
